At least 10 dead, 50 injured in Iran train derailment

TEHRAN – At least 10 people died and 50 more were injured in a train derailment in Iran early Wednesday, according to the Iranian Students' News Agency.The semi-official Fars news agency put the death toll at 13, with 60 passengers seriously injured.

Two teams of rescuers have been dispatched to the site of the incident, which is located 50 kilometers off Tabas, he said, adding that ambulances and helicopters have been sent to the site.

There were 430 people on board the train, and 16 of the wounded are in critical condition, said the official.
