British PM Boris Johnson arrives in India for visit

NEW DELHI – British Prime Minister Boris Johnson arrived in India on Thursday for a two-day official visit.

Johnson landed in the western state of Gujarat where he is scheduled to spend the day before flying to the national capital in the evening.

This is his maiden visit to India as prime minister.

The key engagements of Johnson's India visit will take place in New Delhi on Friday when he would meet External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and then hold one-to-one and delegation level meetings with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

Both sides are also scheduled to exchange various Memorandums of Understanding and interact with the media.
