SINGAPORE / HANOI / YANGON / MANILA – Singapore reported 9,087 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total tally to 1,997,847.
Of the new cases, 723 were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 8,364 through ART (antigen rapid test) tests, according to statistics released by the country's Ministry of Health.
Among the PCR cases, 700 were local transmissions and 23 were imported cases. Among the ART cases with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 8,063 local transmissions and 301 imported cases.
Two new deaths from COVID-19 were reported on Friday, taking the total death toll to 1,641.

Myanmar
Myanmar confirmed 359 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total tally to 627,997, according to the Ministry of Health on Friday.
The death toll from COVID-19 in the country reached 19,470 on Friday after one more death was reported in the past 24 hours, the ministry said.
The Philippines
The Philippines reported 2,459 new COVID-19 infections on Friday, pushing the number of confirmed cases in the Southeast Asian country to 3,978,354.
The Department of Health said the number of active cases rose to 26,399, while 36 more patients died from COVID-19 complications, pushing the country's death toll to 63,439.
Vietnam
Vietnam recorded 590 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, down by 480 from Thursday, according to its ministry of health.
Among the new cases, one was imported and the rest were all locally transmitted, said the ministry.

The newly reported infections brought the total tally to 11,491,541. The country reported no new deaths from the pandemic on Friday, with the total fatalities staying at 43,155.
