HK men’s foil team win bronze at National Games

Hong Kong has captured its fifth medal at the National Games in Shaanxi province.

In fencing, the trio of Ryan Choi, Yeung Chi-ka and Cheung Siu-lun on Monday took bronze in the men’s team foil. They defeated Jiangsu 45-36.

Hong Kong was beaten by Fujian 29-45 in the semi-final earlier in the day.

However, their women counterparts lost the play-off for bronze to hosts Shaanxi.

The quartet of Valerie Cheng, Kuan Yu-ching, Sophie Wu and Fan Linna were leading the hosts until midway in the bout before losing 45-36.

The SAR has won one gold and four bronze medals in the National Games so far.
