Korean Culture and Information Service Releases Korea Contents Week’s First Official Video, “Su:m”

Seoul, Korea, February 7, 2022 – (SEAPRWire) – On February 4, the Korean Culture Information Service (KOCIS) of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, released “Su:m,” the first official video of Korea Contents Week (KOCOWEEK). KOCOWEEK is a festival prepared by KOCIS to promote Korea as a cultural powerhouse and follow through the achievements of Hallyu (Korean Wave) with stronger cultural exchange platforms.

Since October 2021, KOCOWEEK has prepared various online contents, events, and contests related to Korean culture for people around the world, with four sections on the official website of: <Feel; KOREA CONTENTS>, <Participate; KOCOWEEK EVENT>; <Meet; Overseas KCC Festival>; and <Introduce; K-Heritage>. Videos on Korean culture made with seven Korean Culture Centers located in the USA (Los Angeles), France, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Russia, Vietnam, and Belgium, had already been released to the public and received great attention.

“Su:m” is the first of the five official videos of KOCOWEEK featured in the <Feel; KOREA CONTENTS> section. The video introduces five themes that represent Korea and its people with intuitive cultural qualities and sophisticated but brief images.

Subtitled “The Breath of the Master Released from the Fingertips,” “Su:m” depicts the process of making a single piece of clothing and a single choreography by combining the delicate breaths of masters from various fields. The work is created by three masters, Hanbok Designer Kim Danha known for designing Blackpink’s hanbok, National Intangible Cultural Property No. 128, Fan Craftsman Kim Dongsik, who has been making fans for five generations, and National Intangible Cultural Property No. 119, Master Artisan of gold leaf Kim Giho, who continues on the family’s 156-year legacy. Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon has also joined to complete the work with her choreography.

Following “Su:m,” Korea Contents Week of the Korean Culture Information Service will continue to release videos with keywords of “Charm,” “Spirit,” “Life,” and “Dream” during the month of February. The videos will share various aspects of Korean culture with people around the world.

“Su:m” is the first official video of KOCOWEEK and will be available on the official Korea Contents Week YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1rxLJ8WMEGRxSksii0bMGw) and website (http://kocoweek.com).
